Batch make cards

One last hoorah before putting the inks and stamps to bed, another Stampin Up set - this one Avant Garden which I got for free. Do love a freebie 😉

It was an easy peasy throw together, all I did was stamp the images on diecut squares of white card, mount them on silver or gold card and using foam pads added them to the cards. I then added a sentiment using Versamark and the appropriate colour embossing powder. Done and dusted in a very short time.

Lighthouse

So today I decided after a massive tidy up of my desk to make a card I had seen on YouTube. I gathered my inks, embossing powders and heat gun and off I went.

I started off by cutting a circle for the sun on a Post It,
then stamped the image onto a Post It and cut round
to create the mask.

Next I stamped the lighthouse image onto white card and covered it with the mask, adding the sun circle at the same time. I then used a new piece of Post It to make a horizon. Using a variety of yellows, oranges, blues and purples and also a couple pieces of cut up sponge, I created a misty looking sky hoping to create an affect of just before sunset. I then stamped the rocky area in black - would have preferred grey but don't have that colour! I cleaned the stamp and then used Versamark and clear embossing powder to create a "wet" look.

Turning the Post It upside down to protect the sky area, I used blue, then incorporated some of the sky colours to create the sea. I used the waves stamp and Versamark, this time using a clear holographic embossing powder to make the waves sparkle a bit in the sunlight.

I tore a piece of Post It to create "mountains" and stuck it covering the sea. I then gently dabbed the purple colour and hey presto - distant mountains!

I removed all the masks and added the birds in black Stayz On. Finally using the Versamark pad and gold embossing powder I added the script.

I chose purple as the card base and then a stick on clear gem for the light and some bakers twine to give it a nautical feel finished off the card.

My fingers are covered in ink, but I'm very pleased with how this turned out.

a Blog Reborn

Hello again. Its been a few years since I wrote anything here and now I seem to have my life back on a semi even keel (for a while at least!) I thought it about time I got back to blogging. Its been a long time since I used a proper keyboard, having become a huge fan of my android tablet. But its broken, so back to my faithful old laptop 😉

So .... whats been happening in the last two and a half years? I've become a grandmother again, so now have three little ones to adore. My oldest grandson is now 5 and at school (my goodness where has the time gone?), My younger grandson is 4 and his little sister is 2. I still see dad a lot, although my wonderful son Sam has taken over the shopping runs with dad to give me extra time at home, bless him.

So onto crafting. Well not much has happened. A few swap cards with UKPC but other than that its been a bit of a no go. The room I use became a dumping ground where eventually, you couldn't even get into the room! Finally, I felt the urge to create earlier this year, so cleared space- still have some tidying to do but can easily reach the craft table now.

I wont go back and find photos of the old cards. New year and all that so here are a few of my latest creations. You may notice the logo on them. Brand new. I feel ready to take this crafting lark a little further so we'll see how the year pans out ...

These cards were make using Tattered Lace supplies. I bought a magazine and it came with a dvd case containing a cdrom to print papers and the dragonfly wings and a die to cut the intricate parts of the wings.

Loved the blue (of course, always been my favourite colour!). I used Glossy Accents to emphasise the body, added peel offs and bobs your uncle!

I actually sold one of these card last week. My hairdresser was enchanted by them and asked to buy one. I was so excited that I'd actually sold a card, it put me in mind to try and sell more.

This was my first attempt using a Stampin Up! die & stamp bundle. Called Swirly Bird and Swirly Scribbles. I haven't stamped in donkeys years so this was an adventure for me and I soon realised my old ink pads are RUBBISH!!!

Finally, a Valentine card. For some reason I've made a bunch of these. I'll put the ones I don't use away for now. Made using some oold card stock and my new SU! Sunshine Wishes framelits

That's all for now, so .....

Happy Crafting!

November 2013

Two 50th birthday cards this month. My sister and her hubby have birthdays just three days apart and they were born in the same year! Dad, Steve and i clubbed together to give them a day out together once the weather improves. I wanted to do something special for Lorraine so ended up with this . . .

I was pretty pleased with how the card turned out, and Lorraine was sobbing on the phone when she called to thank me so I know she liked it too ;)

My brother-in-laws card

And finally - the November Swap card - New Home - as one of our group was moving house!

October 2013

I was pretty busy in October. A few birthday cards, a Swap and an ethnic wedding card.

The birthdays were dad, Steves dad, Miriam (my neice), Jenny, Suzanne. I might have to try and add some later as again, I think some are stored on laptop.

Heres the rest . . .
