First my UKPC swap card for April. The theme was "words" and I thoroughly enjoyed the inking, stamping, die cutting etc that made this happen
Next it was a demo day at Pinnacles last Saturday. They were demonstrating Pan Pastels. I've heard if you struggle with brayering, you might be able to get on with these better. Jenny and I got there nice and early which guaranteed us front row seats. I sat transfixed for 2 hours and in the end it was a dumb posterior which made me move! Then it was to the shop to get some. Feeling very much the beginner with these, so plan on practising when I can. I did manage something Saturday night
I'd gone for a cloudy sunset style and was quite pleased with how it turned out, although not happy with my makeup sponges, they seemed too harsh. I want a softer result when I stroke the page with the colours. I had also bought a cloud stamp so used a coordinating Impress ink in Autumn Leaf.
While all this was going on, I was also making up packs of cards for my Slimming World consultant. She'd asked me to make her a bundle of cards. I'd made 20 of her regular style when she paid for my next 'countdown' as payment, so I wanted to make something a bit more special as a thank you. Hence the new designs (another 10 of each) -
Last night I finally made a scrapbook page. Its been a long time since I was able to get to my 12x12 files, they're still a little covered by other things but now at least I can use them! Naturally the page is William orientated!!
I'd borrowed the birdcage die from Jenny but the rest of the flowers etc. came from my stash. The prep took the longest time, collecting all the ingredients but then the fun part - laying it all out and deciding what went where. Its loosely based on a sketch I found online, unfortunately I don't have the link now as I'd copied the sketch some time back.
The photos were taken in our daughters garden and William is wearing the hat I bought a day or so earlier. I'd been out part of the day and wondered where hubby was when I got in. It was when the photos arrived via email that I realised he's sneaked off to visit his grandson!!
All this crafting has been great and last night my sis reminded me I had some cards to make for her too, so must soldier on . . . .
