Batch make cards

One last hoorah before putting the inks and stamps to bed, another Stampin Up set - this one Avant Garden which I got for free. Do love a freebie 😉

It was an easy peasy throw together, all I did was stamp the images on diecut squares of white card, mount them on silver or gold card and using foam pads added them to the cards. I then added a sentiment using Versamark and the appropriate colour embossing powder. Done and dusted in a very short time.

Lighthouse

So today I decided after a massive tidy up of my desk to make a card I had seen on YouTube. I gathered my inks, embossing powders and heat gun and off I went.

I started off by cutting a circle for the sun on a Post It,
then stamped the image onto a Post It and cut round
to create the mask.

Next I stamped the lighthouse image onto white card and covered it with the mask, adding the sun circle at the same time. I then used a new piece of Post It to make a horizon. Using a variety of yellows, oranges, blues and purples and also a couple pieces of cut up sponge, I created a misty looking sky hoping to create an affect of just before sunset. I then stamped the rocky area in black - would have preferred grey but don't have that colour! I cleaned the stamp and then used Versamark and clear embossing powder to create a "wet" look.

Turning the Post It upside down to protect the sky area, I used blue, then incorporated some of the sky colours to create the sea. I used the waves stamp and Versamark, this time using a clear holographic embossing powder to make the waves sparkle a bit in the sunlight.

I tore a piece of Post It to create "mountains" and stuck it covering the sea. I then gently dabbed the purple colour and hey presto - distant mountains!

I removed all the masks and added the birds in black Stayz On. Finally using the Versamark pad and gold embossing powder I added the script.

I chose purple as the card base and then a stick on clear gem for the light and some bakers twine to give it a nautical feel finished off the card.

My fingers are covered in ink, but I'm very pleased with how this turned out.
